FAQs

Do I need to book into a course or can I just turn up?

We highly recommended you book into a course as our popular beginners courses fill up quickly. Alternatively you can attend a class casually for a one-off payment.

I am pregnant. Can I start yoga classes?

Call the studio to discuss your pregnancy with a teacher. In some cases, we will accept pregnant women into Beginners Courses or a suitable level class.

Can I eat before a yoga class?

Yoga should be practised on an empty stomach, so leave at least three hours after a main meal, or two hours after a snack.

What should I wear or bring with me?

You should wear comfortable clothing that allows you move freely.  Shorts, tights, t-shirts and singlets are great but baggy, loose clothing is not recommended as your teacher needs to be able to see your body as you move.

How often should I come to class?

Attending a yoga class at least twice or more per week is definitely better for you than only once a week. Yoga is traditionally practiced on a daily basis so the more classes you attend the more you learn.

How long are the classes?
All classes run for 90 minutes.
What if I book in for a term and miss a class?

You are able to make-up 2 classes per ten week term should you miss a class. If you are going to be away for an extended period please speak with your teacher.

Why should I inform the teacher if I am menstruating?

During menstruation your body goes through physical and metabolic changes, and consequently your yoga practice needs to be altered to take account of the altered condition of the body at this time. If you inform your teacher that you are menstruating, the postures given to you will support the process the body is going through rather than working against it.  Strenuous postures such as vigorous standing poses, jumping, backbends, exertion of the abdominal muscles and inversions should be avoided during this time.

Align your body, mind and self.

As yoga works best with continuity, a 10 week enrolment is recommended. If you miss a class, you’re welcome to make up in other classes.
